Technical Overview for Supported Platforms
InterBase can either be installed as a Server Edition (for Windows and Linux) or deeply embedded inside your application using the InterBase libraries (on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Android & iOS).
Server Edition | Deeply embedded library edition |
---|---|
The server edition works with a number of concurrent users scaling easily from one to hundreds of users. The server edition is fully loaded with all the InterBase disaster recovery features, including incremental backups, Journaling and Point-in-time recovery. |
The Library version (InterBase ToGo / IBLite) can be used both as a standalone database for your local application or client driver to connect back to an InterBase Server. Using the InterBase libraries you can add offline data capabilities to your application and also remove the need to deploy client drivers to connect to the server edition. |
If you still need to discover which editions of InterBase are right for your applications, please review the InterBase Product Edition Comparison page.
