A Case Study Presentation on Data Modeling for SAP Applications

It is essential to understand all relevant corporate data to support critical initiatives such as data warehouse and analytics, as well as governance-focused activities such as data quality and master data management. Data modeling is the means to map the corporate data landscape in order to achieve this level of understanding across traditional relational databases, Big Data, and ERP solutions. A typical first step, is to reverse engineer these databases and data stores into data models. However, most ERP solutions present additional challenges in exposing the foundational metadata. This gap is bridged by utilizing the Safyr tool from Silwood Technology to extract the metadata from the internal dictionaries.
