Embarcadero RAD Studio XE7 is the tool of choice for developers building connected apps for
Windows, Android, iOS, OS X, gadgets, and wearables

SAN FRANCISCO – December 17, 2014 – Embarcadero Technologies, a leading provider of software solutions for application and database development, today announced that RAD Studio XE7 continues to gain record levels of support from third party providers, with over 60 vendors providing plugins, tools, and components for XE7:

"With support for all major platforms, new language features, parallelization, and robust smart device, cloud and data connectivity, the new XE7 release of RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++Builder is proving to be among the most popular upgrade releases with developers," said Michael Swindell, Senior Vice President of Products at Embarcadero. "There are now more than 60 third-party tool and components vendors supporting the RAD Studio XE7 family ensuring app developers upgrading to XE7 have access to new components and XE7 updated versions of their favorite Delphi and C++Builder plugins and components."

Among the third party components available for RAD Studio XE7 are those in the newly created open source Turbo Pack. The Turbo Pack updates some of the most widely used components from the early versions of Delphi and C++Builder, such as Turbo Power's Async Pro, Orpheus, and VirtualTree. The Turbo Pack components have been updated to work with RAD Studio XE7, taking full advantage of Unicode and new language and library features, with some components expanding to mobile.

"Third party components, plugins, and tools are a huge advantage of the RAD Studio ecosystem and developer toolbox," said David Intersimone, Vice President of Developer Relations and Chief Evangelist. "This record setting number of available components makes the XE7 migration ready for customer upgrades."

RAD Studio XE7 is the complete solution for building connected apps for Windows, Android, iOS, OS X, gadgets, and wearables. The platform enables Delphi/Object Pascal and C++ developers to extend existing Windows applications and build new, modern apps that connect desktop and mobile devices with gadgets, cloud services, and enterprise data and APIs.

Users of RAD Studio prior to the XE7 release can upgrade and take advantage of the expanded tools, while current RAD Studio XE7 users can incorporate these tools with their projects, and benefit from the robust ecosystem.
