Selects new version of Delphi providing multi-device support to build native applications
TOKYO – April 14, 2015 – Embarcadero Technologies today announced that TKC Corporation has adopted Embarcadero® Delphi® XE series as its development environment for its next generation tax and accounting systems. TKC has used an earlier version of Delphi and Visual Studio using Microsoft .NET Framework. The decision to use native application development with the new version Delphi XE series that provides multi-device support will allow faster application development across more platforms and form factors with higher quality.
TKC’s taxation and accounting systems are used in more than 760,000 companies, including 8,700 accounting firms, sole proprietorships and listed companies, and about 900 local governments in Japan. The systems are used by a wide range of users who require stable operation and software that is not affected by changes in PC environments.
Applications built using Delphi are stable, not requiring a special runtime module or middleware, and can be executed by simply deploying an EXE/DLL. Additionally, native code helps to reduce memory needs by employing high speed processing. Delphi XE series enables application development not only for Windows but also for iOS, Android and Mac OS X from a single code base. TKC plans to deploy applications providing multi-device and multi-OS support in the future.
With the adoption of Delphi, TKC has improved and standardized its development framework so that it can be shared across many software products. This framework utilizes Embarcadero DataSnap middleware and can support any model, desktop applications, or cloud applications, so users can promote re-use and standardize development assets without considering the scale and how they are used.
“Taxation and accounting systems provided by TKC Corporation require an update every year according to laws and regulation changes,” said Hitoshi Uotani, Corporate Officer, and Director of System Laboratory of TKC Corporation. “Prompt and stable software provision is extremely critical in order to support management of our client corporations. Delphi enables visual development through components and ensures high levels of productivity from our team. We also greatly appreciate Delphi’s multi-device support for deploying our development assets to mobile devices.”
”The software development landscape is becoming increasing complex thanks to the growing number of mobile devices, cloud services, gadgets and other connected devices available in the market today,” said Michael Swindell, Senior Vice President of Products and Strategy at Embarcadero. “Our software development platform provides a familiar visual environment that enables TKC’s developers to very easily build expanded, innovative solutions for mobile, cloud, and other environments.”
